What are the best conditioners available?
How often is hair conditioned?

Yes there are conditioners better then others; however, for the best results for your hair, it is best to first analyze what your hair needs – more volume, moisturizing, or just help combing through. It is always best to consult a professional stylist if you do not know what your hair needs are currently. More volume is obtained when an extra volume conditioner is used. If your hair is dry, it is always best to use a moisturizing conditioner. Combing through conditioners is usually named “De-tangle”. There are stipulations to using each of these conditioners and the rule of thumb is to use your better judgment to determine when your hair needs to be conditioned.

Argan oil is made from the actual nuts from the Argan tree, which almost solely grows in Morocco, is known to have restoration and age-defying effects. Argan oil is one of the best natural

oils as it is highly rich in vitamins E and F, fatty acids, squalene, antioxidants, carotene, phytosterols, and phenolic compounds. Indeed, Argan oil has been clinically tested and proven to have miraculous results on hair.

We believe, in Albuquerque, Moroccanoil to be the best product on market today. We typically advise our clients to use the professional shampoos and conditioners, as professional products have the correct PH balance for each hair type. Again, as a general rule, it is always best to consult your hair stylist for your type of hair and to suggest the correct type of shampoo and conditioner for you to use – and mainly, when it is best to use the products. It is also best practice to alternate shampoos and Conditioner, as hair, like anything else on the human body, remembers what you are currently using and tends compensate. In other words, your hair gets used to your hair products and you may not want those results.

Conditioner for Fine Hair
We recommend conditioning fine hair two times a week or as needed due to dryness. If your hair is damage, you can add conditioner only to the ends, as often as needed due to dryness. As an option,

you could make a “home made de-tangle”, which consist of mixing a small hand bottle of filtered water with two table spoon of conditioner.
Conditioner for Medium or Thick Hair
For medium to thick hair you can use conditioner daily. You can also, add a deep condition treatment weekly as part of your hair care routine, (add the deep conditioner to your hair, middle shaft to ends, and place a plastic cap on your hair for about 7 to 10 minutes, rinse and style as usual).
Note: Always make sure you keep the conditioner away from your scalp in order to retain your current hair volume.
Remember: The day you use your deep conditioning treatment, your hair will lay flatter than normal; however, this is fine and temporary – after 1 wash, your hair will have more volume.

New Hair Salon idea from hair stylists in Albuquerque

In 201Lene Ramirez – Brazilian – Albuquerque Hair Stylist0, two cosmetologist colleagues, Lene and Andrea, now best friends, decided they want to run an Albuquerque Hair Salon. They both brought the idea to me and we pondered over it for a year or so. In November of 2011, Lene and Andrea made that dream a reality by opening my Uniquely Elegant Salon at 8311 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87113 Just 2 blocks north of Paseo del Norte.

Andrea Montoya – Albuquerque Hair StylistI was completely astounded when I first walked in to the new salon. These two ladies made a complete elegant shop that any mother or mother-in-law would be proud of. I was proud by just seeing the pictures they sent me by email, as I was in Quebec, Canada on assignment and could not be there for the opening day.

Both ladies were vastly trained in cosmetology, and had many years of hands-on hair styling and, from the looks of the salon, interior decorating too. They chose Alfaparf to be there hair color line, which is a very high end Italian product line, and Moroccanoil to be there main hair care product line. Both choices proved to be wise.

Lene, being a born and raised Brazilian, naturalized American, had a unique method of styling curly hair, which proved to be valuable to Uniquely Elegant Salon as the company later became very acquainted with the Hollywood craze Brazilian Blowout in Albuquerque. To Lene, this was the same styling of hair she was accustomed to during her adolescence in Brazil.

Andrea, with roots of New Mexico, is best known for her art in razor cutting and she is simply phenomenal with cutting curly and wavy hair as well as long hair layers and short hair for women, men, kids and teens. She took to Brazilian Blowout like and angel fish to water.

I am so proud of both ladies!
